Fall is here in all its glory! It looks like this will be a spectacular year for colour! Lots of red, burgundy, and orange. I hope you have an opportunity to take a walk and enjoy the leaves.
We had another successful rock painting event at the Carling Autumn Fest on September 17th. It was once again a hit with both children and adults. Lots of rocks to put in the garden. Thanks to Peter Pook, Polly Pook, and Jennifer Ahrens who had as much fun as the children. Bruce Kelly checked in to help after a successful Dog Show.
We also had a fun cruise on the Chippewa. It was an afternoon that took us through the swing bridge, around Parry Island, through the Wabuno Channel, and back around by Killbear point and Goat and Grave Island. It was wonderful to meet many WCA members.
You may have seen that we have a presence at the market on Sundays. We hope this will build awareness of WCA and maybe even bring in a few new members. I think our last time this year is at Thanksgiving. We hope to continue this next year and are hoping some of you will volunteer to help and come for a Sunday. It is fun, you meet current WCA members and try to encourage others to join.
Your board of Directors is working hard for you. Donna Tucker, membership Chair and her committee continue to build our membership, including a survey that many of you have completed. Thanks for that. The results will be reviewed and will form the work for the coming year. We will also send out a snapshot of the survey to you. Also, Allison Needham is keeping our website up to date and keeps you up to date with email.
Finally, as you know, there is a municipal election on October 24, 2022. I encourage you to go to the Carling Township website for information or to a website set up by some Carling residents. It is www.VoteCarling.ca and will tell you if you are able to vote and how, when and where to do that. The candidates’ information is included in this newsletter.
That is all for now. Reach out at any time if you have questions, concerns or suggestions. I would love to hear from you.
Take care and stay safe!
Pam
